question about Pumpkin/Melon box brooder

Looks great! Don't forget the lid, my chicks will jump up on the lip whenever I open it to replenish their food and water haha. Be sure to post pics once its occupied!

They grow fast too, I have 9 5 week olds in mine and they need to get moved to the coop ASAP!

I will i want to put them in i have it divided to get them used to each other then the group that i thought was all better from what seemed to be Cocci started to show symptoms again..... so they are back on meds. I found out you need to mix new corid water each day. i had mixed a gallon then used it over a week...Guess thats a no no.

Here's the conversion of my brooder box into Panic Room. There are 4 small doors, on the corners, that they can use for access, and their food water and roost toy are all inside of it. My bigger chickens keep coming over to it and "knocking" near the doors, lol. Makes me think they are saying "Little Pig Little Pig, Let me come in!", and a chorus of cheeps saying "Not by the hair on our chinny chin chins!" Edit to add: it was suggested to me in another thread to make a couple sides into mesh, for ventilation and so the birds have direct (safe) contact. (Thanks @aart) I promptly took that suggestion :)

That was the first thing I saw that I would do to the box! Cardboard is so easily cut that putting in some windows and covering the openings with either plastic sheeting or window screen would greatly improve the utility of your panic room.

Otherwise, it's perfect!
