Question About Zombie Chickens

I just bought 8 fully feathered Zombie Pullets locally from a friend. I’ve been wanting these for the last year & 1/2. SUPER cool looking chicken! Lays eggs thru out the year. Great temperament, very docile, easy going, people loving chicken breed.
Not sure how to upload pics from my iPhone on here, but you can find me on FB- Spring Ridge Ranch. I have pics up.

I found one video of breeder that did claim they did something, but I cannot remember what. Are they about the same as "Moonbeam" chickens?
No moonbeams and zombies are different
A lot of people get them confused
A zombie is usually a ayam cemani rooster paired with a white leghorn

Others use a blend of those

When breeding a zombie, you should always use the rooster to be. Ayam cemani In doing so for the first generation you will get sex linked chicks.. the male transfer his genetics to the female chicks and genetically speaking, he crosses her genetics over to the male chicks

Moon beams are created using different different breeds

The main thing with zombies, everyone thinks you can get the same result with any white hen. That is not the case because you need to use a dominant white hen to get the results you’re needing.

I recommend joining zombie chickens on Facebook. There’s genetic information in that group. :)

Honestly, I'm quite intrigued. I ran across something called a "Zombie" chicken. Does anyone have articles or something on them? I used to raise goats and knew about fainters. I saw a single video on zombie chickens and how they are the "fainting goat" of the chicken breed  Do they faint or do something odd? I certainly don't want any but now my interest is peaked and I want to know if this is an actual thing or something one person is breeding a line of. My husband thought they were cool haha! I'd like pictures if anyone on here breeds them!
I ordered hatching eggs f1 zombies. Here r my best fibro females dad is a ayam cemani w no feather leakage or mulberry and mom was a white leghorn

I’ll hopefully be hatching F2s in 20 days :)

Okay, so no one is talking about it yet, BUT Cackle apparently has "Crazy Cackle Zombie Chickens." I was putting in an order last night and almost missed them!

They state they are not like the Ayam/Leghorn crosses others have used under the name Zombie, but Cackle birds include Ayam Cemani and Show Quality Silkies. I ordered 5, there's a limit of 10. So far it appears by the description this may be the first year they are released. It also looks like they are either already sold out, or they are being conservative and only making them available in inventory as they incubate to ensure they have enough. Currently there is only availability for February.

I am stupidly excited for these Zombie chickens.

Crazy Cackle Zombie Chicken
I bought 3 white silkies this year specifically to breed with my Ayam roo. I already have 2 hens from the leghorn cross and my curiosity has peaked on what I will get with the silkie cross. I'm beginning to feel a bit like a mad scientist here...muhahahaha....I will post pictures when I get results later this year 🤓

I recieved a zombie one I’m guessing it’s a mix of silkie with ayam has feathered legs and is growing top hair

Zombie Spikes are a thing. They faint and have the Turken genes with Zombie. There’s a lady on TikTok that is creating them.

Zombies are Ayam Cemani and White Leghorn.
Moonbeam are Ayam Cemani and White Silkie.
They're all over the internet specifically explained.
In both cases the hens are the white birds and the roos are the Ayam Cemanis (solid black, no leakage as mentioned above). Just because you breed these pairs doesn't mean you'll get exactly what you're looking for at first, it takes cherry picking and pairing. Then repeat with the chickie-doos. I've been researching it because I love anything black/white/grey. I'm working on zombies myself and possibly moonbeams in the future. I have my ACs and I'm picking up my leghorn hens from my sister this week. I have to wait until I have an incubator open to decide if I want to add silkies (and if I want to invest in yet another coop and run right now - I also let my chickens free range during the day, so I'll have to start splitting times for them to be out so I may limit to the 4 pens and time out we already have/do). I was just surprise gifted Mallards and Chocolate Splash Silkies that I'll already have to figure out how to separate, but not keep penned up all the time. I wasn't so excited about the surprise gifts, that means I need 2 more pens and coops to keep the mallards separate from my magpies and the silkies separate from my backyard mix (my eating eggs kids) and ACs, and my AC and Leghorn pen. I'm not keeping them locked up all the time. Thankfully they load in when it's treat time. Lengthh was to express that I likely won't be adding white silkies anytime soon.

A guy I know has been mixing bresse hens with an Ayam cock and is getting the same look as the zombie chickens. He sells the pullets for 30.
Geez-O-Pete! $30 seems relatively steep! I absolutely love the look of the Zombies and the Ayam Cemanis, that was the only reason I wanted them. Egg producing pets. LOL If I can get it up and running it may have to become a small business! 🤣

Lol Considering most pullets around here go for about 20 I don't think it's that that crazy. I wouldn't pay it though lol I just had my first zombie chick hatch last week!
