Question for anyone with Brinsea Ova Easy Cabinet incubators.

I currently have my Ova Easy Cabinet 580 incubator sitting on the styrofoam it arrived on. It is currently operating with eggs in it.

Are there fans on the underside of the incubator take air in and out? If so the styrofoam is blocking the fans and I'm worried this might be damaging the incubator.
I didn't think about this just until recently.

Did you check the instruction manual does it say anything about that what about the specifications page does it say there are fans on the bottom?

It does not say anything about external features or fans. Only thing exterial that they talk about is the dashboard for incubator controls.

I looked up the user manual online for the ova easy advance,...advance...that just means it has the Turning system in it, I think. okay, it says to take off all the strapping and all the packing. take it all off including the styrofoam. and then place it on a platform which is not the floor. it doesn't say anything about a raised platform or anything. so I am guessing what you need to do is take it off the styrofoam because it says that the platform should be stable and flat which styrofoam is not. so I'm guessing you need to take it off the styrofoam and put a piece of plywood down and put it on the plywood. that's that's my observation from reading the user manual on the over easy 380 advance.
Also call Brinson ask them. that's one expensive $2,000 incubator, wow.

Came across this thread, albeit a year after, but thought I'd chirp in for anyone else reading it later on as I personally run two of the Brinsea OE580.
You need to take all packaging material from the incubator prior to use, including the bottom. Your incubator needs to be on solid footing, and as level, as is realistic. One initial set up concern that should be understood is in the meaning of level, which also means that the incubator needs to be level from corner to corner so as not to rack the machine. If the incubator sits racked, you will eventually start finding the incubator leaking, and the door will not seal one hundred percent.
Due to size and weight, wherever and however you establish your level base, it should be solid so as to avoid as much vibration as is realistic.
It is my suggestion that the placement of your OE580 is set up before arrival due to the size and weight. The 580 is not an incubator that will move from room to room as needed as can the smaller models.
I use the term "as is realistic" because there has to be a point of reality, and you do not need to calibrate your floor for scientific nano measurements. Keep it simple, while doing the right thing for your investment.
