I have four miniatures that stay up on the hearth year round. But I don’t turn on their lights until after Thanksgiving.

We put our tree up the first of December and take it down after the Epiphany

We bought a fiber optic tree several years ago. Before that, we bought a live, potted tree which we planted in the spring. Some lived, some didn't.

I could do without the tree. Hubby likes us to put it up on Christmas Eve, but I usually end up taking it down the first week of January. I get tired of it sitting there, taking up a lot of room, and he'll ignore it until it goes away.

The Nightmare tree will go up in October and stay up through new Year's. We will get a live tree if Costco has them this year, usually first week in Dec. They don't last here if you get them any sooner, and the ones from all the lots and big box stores don't last no matter what. If we don't get a live one, I'll put up the fake one first weekend in Dec when I get the lights out of storage for outside.
