Question of the Day - Saturday, December 14th, 2024

Yes! I've been to the Zoo, the Museum of Natural History, the Museum of American History, and the Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, not the one in DC yet.
Tell me about your visits! :pop
The zoo is interesting, has all your typical animals but also giant pandas on loan from China. They just got new ones. It's free admission but you have to pay for parking if you park in the lot (costs $30). Sometimes you can find parking on the street.

The Museum of Natural History has the Hope Diamond. To me that was the only interesting exhibit. They also have a lot of taxidermized animals, which is interesting too (but then you go to the zoo and see the same animals in real life so...)

The Museum of American History is very interesting (to me that loves USA history) and there's lots of neat things to see. You can sit in a trolley car that feels like you're really going somewhere.

The Air and Space Museum in Chantilly is interesting (it's the Udvar-Hazy Center in case you want to visit) with a good mix of military and civilian planes. I've been there several times.

With the A & S Museum in DC, you have to reserve timed passes, otherwise, they will not let you in. I haven't been there yet.

All of these museums are free, but parking is hard to find. It's best if you like walking, 'cause it's they're all fairly close together (except for the zoo) and you can just take the train into DC. You'll end up by the Capitol.

Sorry, that was a much longer post than what I intended!
