Maybe yours has a different quality? I don’t buy the very cheap ones. The ones I have now are sold as eco-sponge and made of cellulose, sisal fibres and recycled PET.They don't get cleaned properly and break down when washed

This alsoYeah, what @ShrekDawg said, you can sanitize a sponge in the microwave. But I use a dishcloth (dishrag, washrag) in the kitchen and also washcloth in the shower. Separate sets, of course! I don't like sponges bc you can't hang them up to dry and anything that doesn't dry gets ... funky, mildewy. Especially here where humidity is an unpleasant fact of life.
I refuse to use recycled PET, just sounds wrong. And nothing is more economical than rewashing a cloth and hanging it to dry between uses. I simply don't like sponges, no matter what kind of fancy words or packaging accompany themMaybe yours has a different quality? I don’t buy the very cheap ones.
