Question of the Day - Sunday, December 17th, 2023

"yes".

I like a real tree for the actual "here's where the presents go" tree. But we also put up some smaller themed artificials, like my Nightmare tree or the boys' Star Wars tree (which neither one got set up this year due to no time)

We didn't find a live tree we liked this year because all the lots had were expensive and dry trees, so we put up an artifical. Such is life.

Live

We don’t put up our tree up till Christmas Eve and take it down after February 2, Candlemas like @MGG said. They’re a pain to take down but at least it’s not a tree made in China decorated with my great grandmother’s Polish ornaments.

I do have a fake tree from when we were in a hotel for a longer period of time (second picture).View attachment 3707426View attachment 3707427
Beautiful real tree.:love
I had a few of those bubble lites . The bulbs burned out, and no more bubbles. :hit
Do you know where I may be able to find some???

BTW.. It is real tree at our house.
Just wanted to pass this little trick we learned on our own.
For ages we tried different things to put into water, to extend tree staying green in home. Sugar,,, Aspirin,,, Oil,, (cooking type) and nothing worked very significantly. Then with trial and learn,,, added Miracle Grow into the water. It is working fantastically well for us. It is not making the tree grow taller,,:gig,,, but the needles do not drop as soon as before. Have been doing the Miracle grow for over 10 years or more.
Will post a pix when I get a chance. (need to take one first)

Thanks! We haven’t bought any for a few years but I think I saw some at Home Depot (that’s where we originally bought them). Maybe Lowe’s :).

Thanks for this suggestion! I will try it on the tree this year and hopefully it will reduce the amount of needles that fall off when it’s time to take the tree down.

As promised,, here are pix of our tree. It is a Fraser Fir.
