Best way to toast bread is in a cast iron skillet. But if I use a toaster, bottoms down. Otherwise the bread gets dizzy and that just ain't right.

Usually the bottom, but if it’s extra tall, then I stuff it in sideways.

I generally put in bottom first, unless it's one of those tiny gluten-free pieces - then I just toss it in.

I don't make toast very often but bottom first
