Yes, it taught me much about taking photographs itself as one could not be wasteful with film; but I was terrible at mixing the chemicals to precise measurements and my developments would sometimes come out milky. I will make a terrible chemist.

No, but I had one of those chemistry kits as a kid, and one of the things I did with it was make sun prints. That was fun.

No, but I developed dental x-rays in a dark room.

No, I always took film to a local drug store.

Yes, I learned in college to develop my own slides and B&W film. Later, I worked in a couple of photography shops for a few years developing film and making prints and posters.
