I've read carrots are dangerous/bad for bunnies. Can someone please tell me why? What can happen if you feed bunnies carrots?

I have a mini rex, I give 2 mini baby carrots a day.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Don't know where you might have red that. Carrots are fine, but the myth is they like the root better, when they actually prefer the tops. the thing you need to sty away from is iceburg lettuce. And always use discretion as to how much you give--too much of a good thing is not good. If rabbits get diarhea, it can kill them.

Here is a list of safe rabbit foods.

Treats Safe For Rabbits

The following is a list of fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, and other treats it is ok for your rabbit to have. This list has been compiled from other lists & resources.
· Keep in mind, even though these are ok for your rabbit to have, you still have to moderate how much you give your rabbit, because the high sugar content of the fruits and too many greens may cause diarrhea.
· Introduce fruits and vegetables slowly over several weeks. And always remember no pesticides!

Too many carrots/treats are bad for bunnies. Excess fruit and veggies result in diarrhea. Give in moderation and bunny will be fine.

I used to give my mini-rexes carrot pieces a few times a week, and only a small piece (like a baby carrot) along with some greens (they love parsley and beet greens).
