My mom is giving my chicks dried red chilis, they really like it but I am not sure if it is good for them. Is it?? If it is bad what do I do? They already ate it!

-They are almost two month old, if that helps!

I'm not sure but if they start laying devilled eggs I'd stop feeding them chillies. LOL. Hopefully someone else will have an opinion that's actually helpful. Oh, and why is she feeding them chillies? I know parrots eat them.

My mom just dropped one by accident and the chicks gobbled it up. So when she saw they liked it she got out another one and fed it to em. I then intervened and made her stop because I didnt know how it would be on their stomachs.

Virtually everything we eat is full of chillies, anything left over goes to the chickens, they eat the chillies - no problem.

But you should see the look on their faces when they poop

thats a relief. I seriously thought they would get stomach issues or something. Thanks so much!

As a card carrying member and competing cook in the International Chili Society, I can say without reservation that chilies (and chili!) are good for EVERYONE!

Seriously, any excess peppers (hot or not) from the garden go to the chickies. They love 'em!

We used to give the hens red chili to get them started laying. It worked for us.
