Red skin on young roo backside

Good evening everyone, new to this site. I have an 8 month old rooster with very red skin on his backside from just above his vent all the way under his belly. The rest of his skin appears normal. He seems healthy and eating ok, and no issues piling on top of the hens. Not sure how to attach a pic. Thanks.

Exposed skin often gets red, and is not an issue. Also, roo's can be red due to hormones as well. It appears he's either picking feathers from himself or others may be doing it on the roosts, as there are broken feathers shafts. I think I see lice nits as well on the feathers above his vent, I circled them below. That may be part of the issue with the feather picking. You should check all of your birds for them.
