So, this is definitely hard for me, but I think we’ve ended up with 3 roosters. In a flock of 6, half being roosters will not work for us even though they’re all super sweet babies and currently get along well. I have incubated and hatched my first flock and while we planned to keep a single rooster, we can’t have multiple.

I figure my lavender splash would be easier to find a home for than my fibro Easter egger and the barred rock hybrid.

He’s large compared to the others in the flock, so he’s definitely alpha but he is very sweet and not aggressive. At his size I don’t think he has to be.

As I type this he’s hanging out on my bed snuggled with the hens and other roosters. He Has never charged at or pecked any of the other chickens or humans. He once mistook my finger tip for a strawberry I was holding and feeding to him but that’s my fault and it didn’t hurt, it was a gentle nibble. He's also used to dogs and cats and is not afraid of them nor will he ever attack or peck at them. He has been known to hop on the back of his dog mom and ride around while she walks. He’s also great with my husband who doesn’t spend nearly as much time with them as I do. He’s definitely funny and curious, and he’s even calm around my baby quail. I really wish I could keep them all.

His name is Tupac, his splash patterns look like bullet holes and the name stuck. There is a splash on his head and down his back(it’s more visible when he spreads his wings) He was born on Jan 22, 2025. He came from a mixed flock based in Mobile, Alabama via Amazon. And was quite the surprise when his feathers came in lavender. I also have pictures of the parents from the mixed flock but I’m not sure how I ended up with him. The roosters of that flock are an Ayam Cemani and a Barred Rock. His legs/feet are half black and gray and half standard yellow. And he has green eyes.

He has began to crow some in the late mornings or when he sees me in the morning, although I think it’s more of a food call lol.

I do not want him to be food, so I’m in no rush to get rid of him to just anyone and I will happily wait for the right home. I’m not asking any rehoming fee, only that he’s loved and let live a full life, and maybe a picture or two when he grows up. If you happen to have a hen or a hatching egg or 2, I would gladly accept that for a trade any breed. But monetarily I don’t need anything for him.

I’m also willing to transport him to the right home to any states that border Colorado.

If you want to know more please let me know!
