Thanks for the great replies everyone!
Yes, she/he is very noisy especially when no one's around, and is quite shy. When I put my hand in the cage she will go crazy and hide in the nest box. Poor bird. I wish I could teach her that humans are harmless....
Also, I read that once a lovebird gets a partner and the partner dies, it will die too because they mate for life. The one I got originally has a partner but its partner flew away during the trip. I better get it a partner fast - I can see the lovebird is quite shaking.
Lovebirds sound fun! I'm planning to build a small aviary for them, but I don't think I can because I can't even build a coop! But I think an aviary is necessary for my family might complain on the noise the bird makes. The cage that our relative gave us is also quite small(18" x 22" x 18" is the minimum cage size requirement).
I'm have quite a problem - I'm planning to get it a partner, but the pet store only sells lovebirds by pair! That means I am going to have 3 lovebirds - is it ok? Will they fight each other to get a partner, or will live happily? Oh, and will a lovebird pair with a lovebird of a different species? And can several pairs of lovebirds live together in the same cage?
Thanks in advance!
