I purchased my first six chickens from Renee at backyardchickies in May 2020 and two of my six have died. Both of them were Wyandottes and both died from reproductive issues. The other four have been healthy (except one died from a bobcat attack so we only have three now). I know a few other people who have purchased Wyandottes from her as well and they also died within the first years unexpectedly. Something seems wrong with her line of Wyandottes. The others we got from her (Buff, Barred Rock, Black Australorp and Easter Egger all have been healthy). Because of that I'm debating on whether I should get more from her or not (and just stay away from her Wyandottes).

My only Wyandotte from backyard chickies just died from reproductive issues, barely made it to a year before malformed eggs got stuck in the oviduct. My jubilee seems healthy, thank god, but I don't think I'll be getting more chickens from there.

Oh, I'm so sorry There is definitely something going on with her line of Wyandottes. A local San Diego gardener that I follow on IG also bought chickens from her and his Wyandotte also passed away within a year or so. One of my newer chickens (a Speckled Sussex) I purchased last April from Mt Healthy suddenly died in January. We were out of town but I saw it on our camera we have installed in the run. She was totally fine in the AM and then starting siting down in various places in the run. Totally unlike her. She then started having some sort of seizure and died. Totally out of the blue! This is the absolute worst part of chicken keeping.
