In February I posted something about my chicken who was having a lot of issues. At first she was wheezing and panting, and then she laid a weird rubber egg after not laying for a long long time. She seemed to get better, so I thought she recovered, but now the exact, and I mean EXACT same thing is happening. It started with wheezing and panting, but it seemed worse this time. We have her nutridrench and vetrx, and her breathing cleared up completely. Then, she laid a normal egg (which she hasn't done in years) and the next day she laid a yolk with absolutely no shell. I don't know if the shell ever came out. Now, there seems to be yolk or something dripping out. I've been giving her tetracycline for a few days as well. What could this be?

If the yolk was broken when it came out, and there is still yolk dribbling out of her, it means she had a soft egg collapse inside of her.

You are ahead of the game by giving her the antibiotic. Continue that for the recommended course, and add a calcium tablet every day to help clear the remains from her oviduct and to boost her blood calcium to help make shells for her future eggs.

This is what I suggest as it works fast. One tablet directly into her beak each day until shells are coming out normal.

Okay, I will find some of that, thank you!
