This morning I went into my chicken shed and found my bantam hen laying down and gasping for air. I figured she had something stuck in her crop or lodged in her throat so I went inside, did some research and mixed olive oil with water because I read it would help break up whatever was causing the issue. She took it and 10 minutes later she wasn’t gasping anymore but her breathing still wasn’t normal. I wrapped her in a blanket to keep her body temperature up and messaged her crop for about an hour. Now she’s shaking, has raspy breathing, cold to the touch and her comb is purple. I’m guessing it is either a respiratory or heart disease but I know she’s suffering and im not sure what the next step is…any advice?

Do you think she ate some of your bedding?
They tend to gasp for air when they have gape worm. Don’t know much about it.
But since her comb is purple, it seems more like an oxygen issue, or maybe an obstruction.

I did some research on gape worm but the more I read about it the more I think she doesn’t have it because she’s also not gasping anymore she’s just very cold and she’s been sleeping for hours now

I don’t think she ate bedding we don’t really have bedding in their coop right now.

Ok, that’s good.
I hope you find out what’s wrong with your poor baby!🥹
