My dear sweet hen, Beth II passed away peacefully this morning. She started going downhill earlier this week and the past couple of days she refused to eat then drink. Beth was a rescued battery hen whom my Mom rescued on the side of a busy highway. Beth, though she stunk like no other chicken I've ever smelt before, had taken an immediate liking to me and would often pace the fence in attempts to get to me whenever she saw me outside. It was determined that she was to stay on my farm for life, unlike my other chickens who I often retired. She was rescued in August of 2021 and I'm estimating she was around five years old when she passed.
Beth was one of my sweetest girls and I will forever miss her! There was only one Beth and she was there during some of my toughest times, and even came at a tough time, lighting up my life. I'm so heartbroken about her passing but I know the thing that she often struggled with as a high production bird is no longer bothering her and that she's in a better place. ❤️ :hit:hit:hit

Aww, I'm sorry. 😞 She was a blessed little girl to have found her way to your home ♡

So very sorry, Lacey! :hugs Beth was so lucky to have lived a good part of her life happy with you, so you know she loved and appreciated you as much as you did her. ❤️ It doesn't make it any easier on our hearts though when one we love is gone. :hugs
