Ripley First Monday Flee Market

Haven't bought chickens there , but I can tell ya if ya want it...Ripley has it !! LOL. They're doing buisness on the first Saturday ,Sunday and Monday last I heard . Theres also a deal here in Coldwater a few times a year "Trade Days" ,also a good one to check out for livestock and such.

I have been to ripley but have not bought any chickens myself there, but the two I have are from there. A friend bought them and some other full size chickens and they were picking on these two (OEGB's) so she let me have them. They have never been handled, but she is laying great and they were pretty healthy I guess. I have had them a couple of months. My MIL has bought chickens there in the past that lived a long time. I just can't stand to see all those chickens in a tiny cage pecking each other and so on. And the goats look terrible usually. I will have to check out the one in coldwater. Have not been to that? I am sure that if you go you could find some chickens that were in pretty good shape. I don't think they have any unusual breeds though. Mostly RIR's and so forth. And lots of dogs!!

Sounds like there are enough of us to have our own trade show!! What do you all have??

I have two OEGB's right now, a roo and a hen. She is sitting on 7 eggs that are about half way there. I have 5 baby chick in the brooder that are about a week old. 1 SF (it is a girl), two black silkies (one may be a mix or a cuckoo) and 2 OEGB's from my two. I have 15 more in the bator right now, some silkies, black, blue and cuckoo, and some SF's and a couple of silkies that might be frizzled. Not sure what will hatch yet, I just started these.
