I would like to add turkeys to my flock because I already have guineas mixed in with the chickens. I had thought guineas were also at risk of blackhead like turkeys so I thought screw it I’ll go ahead and add some turkeys, but now I can’t seem to find any info at all on the risks of blackhead disease and guineas. Can someone give me some info or point me in the right direction??

On the topic of turkeys and chickens though, we have a ton of wild turkeys already on our homestead.

I have never heard anything relating guineas to Blackhead.

That’s basically where I’m at in my Google sleuthing. And the midget turkeys I wanted are sold out just like everything else anyways so that was a fun idea while it lasted.
The midget turkeys may not be sold out. It may be that they are out of stock at this time. They should not be available until some time in April.

Thank you. I’ll try to keep checking but I was going to buy with someone else and split the order and they decided to get a broad breasted instead, which I don’t want. I just have to hope I can find another local willing to split an order.

The other thing you can do is to wait until the poults arrive and list them for sale. I have always been successful selling the extra poults I have received.

The places selling the Midget Whites probably won't get the first eggs from their turkeys until the middle of March.

Both excellent ideas. And I would have several weeks of growing out before selling was absolute necessity
