Agree with Chelsa’sChicks...Glue traps work really well but can be a death trap for anything small that gets caught in them. We lived in a rental property one time on the northern beaches of Sydney, over one of the wettest summers on record, and there were lots of roaches (the big flying ones and the little German ones), despite our best efforts to keep the place clean. I was saddened one day to find a little dead house gecko in a glue trap, attracted by the roach feast, so I started checking the traps regularly. I managed to release a common garden skink by putting olive oil on it where it was stuck, and VERY gently prising its tiny legs and body away from the surface of the glue. The oil did the job, and the skink was cooperative. Similarly with a huntsman spider, which was released with all 8 legs intact (I’m one of those people who likes spiders and only catches and releases spiders outside the house because my wife is scared of them. There are some hilarious videos on U-Tube of people trying to catch huntsman spiders with clear containers, but the trick for catching spiders is to cover them with an opaque bowl (e.g. metal) so they don’t see your hand and think they’re in a safe hiding place, then gently slide a firm bit of card or stiff paper between the rim of the bowl and the surface the spider is on, covering the bowl completely, and lift away.)

I Agree completely with not using them for mice even.. That's why I suggested the green glue traps and not the black. I have pulled mice out of the green ones and take them for a small ride away from my house.. My small 11 pound dog however, happened to get stuck in a black glue trap was very difficult to get out of the trap. I was actually laughing so hard I was almost in tears. He had both front feet stuck in it and so I grabbed him by his scruff to pull him off the trap with one hand and hold the trap with the other. Well, the black glue strung out like melted cheese on a pizza and here I am swirling my dog over the black trap to not get it anymore in his long hair and all over the floor and myself. It was a joke. When I finally got him out of the glue it was still so strong, that when I put him on the floor he was physically stuck to the floor from the remaining glue on his front feet. I had to pick him up and cut out hair and glue out of his toes. I could not imagine doing this ever again lol so I only buy the green glue traps. The green traps caught my 75lb pitbull who came to me with it hanging off his foot and it was much easier to get the glue off him due too the difference of the glue properties.

Yea, I’ve seen too many starved birds and lizards, or mice that have chewed off limbs trying to get out of the glue traps to ever use them like that. I will update y’all if the ones arriving tomorrow are any good at catching roaches, though.

Is that platform still in there?
If so, would be good to add traps poison under there...maybe make one or two boards removable for your access? (I think they are bards rather than plywood sheets?-too lazy to hunt it down)

Yea, the boards are still there. There’s no way I can remove them, I guess I just have to step up the sevin dust around the perimeter and see if that helps. Maybe buy something stronger when the chooks are older.

You can also mix the sevin dust in with the chicken bedding.

First find out where there Nest Is,and find out how there coming in the coop,Once you found out put glue traps near there way in the coop.

I live in a humid pine forest, roaches are just kind of everywhere. I’m sure many live under a wooden deck part of the run, but I can’t do much about that. I could place edible poisons under there but then they come out and die and get eaten by the birds.
They could be coming in from anywhere in the coop, it’s not exactly airtight lol.

The glue traps get here tomorrow, I just plan on sticking them up in the corners of the coop. I’ll update if they actually work or not.
