I"ve scoured the forum but haven't found a straight forward answer to my question.

Rodent Smoke Bomb by Revenge (I think Revenge is the brand), will this be safe to use near my chickens.

We'll let the chickens free range away from their coop and run while we do this. We'll light the bombs, toss into their holes and cover the holes up. Assuming it'll be over in a short amount of time. But I just thought I'd ask if anyone has any issues w/ this hurting their birds.

Any experience you could share will be helpful.

Thanks,
Elissa

Curious what rodents you are targeting for these bombs?

My first experience with these was over 50 years ago when my grandmother handed me a box of them to light and shove into mole runs. Me being about 8 to 10 years of age and pretty bad about lighting fire crackers, roman candles, texas twisters and such at the time. So I was the perfect candidate to help.....with adult supervision of course.

But as I recall, I was also old enough to read and what I read on the side said "cyanide". That is pretty far removed from these "smoke bombs", which may starve out oxygen and are offensive smelling, but not poison to the extent cyanide gas would be.

Reviews suggest the affect, if any at all, is short lived at best, but do try it and let us know how it works.

Tried looking for product information on the bonide site. That particular brand of smoke bomb not available in the u.s. along with a safety sheet for said poisons. That being said it is advertised as eliminating secondary poisoning concerns. Can we get a picture of the ingredients?

No luck, nothing. Looking into a motion detective camera so we can see exactly what we're dealing with. argh
