I have four baby chicks, they are 3 weeks old. I bought Rooster Booster Vitamins & Electrolytes. How long do I feed the chicks the Rooster Booster?

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Congratulations on your new chicks! Some people only give it the first few days / week to get them over the stress of shipping / hatching. Some people do give it routinely to all their birds, especially breeding birds, just putting in the water a couple of times a week. The directions say. "Directions for Use: For best results, use for 3 to 5 days in a row and repeat as needed. Mix 1/3 teaspoon per gallon or mix 1 ounce in 16 gallons of drinking water daily."

Welcome to BYC!

Congrats on the new chicks! Good feed is properly formulated for proper growth. Poultry are very delicate creatures and too many minerals in the diet can upset the balance of the other minerals needed to absorb nutrients from the feed. Continuous feeding of vitamins is usually given to birds that are under a lot of stress, molting or recovering from illness. So I would use these sparingly. However probioitcs are an excellent addition for a chicks diet. Gives the immune system a good start on keeping those pathogens at bay and a great boost.

Welcome to our flock and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Thank you. I'll stop feeding them the Rooster Booster. I have two Red Sex-link. Their names are Capt. Falcon & Sticky Pete. The other two are Ameraucana their names are Elle & Lady Crock Pot. Love my Ladies!

You wrote that so well Two Crows that I just had to say something and you are so correct in the simplest things are the best to do as chicks are so delicate for the first 6 weeks and even after a year old at the end chicken are not a strong bird like geese or even ducks
