Rooster hurting hen

I think my rooster is breaking my hens wing feathers and irritating her back while mounting her. Has anyone else experienced this? I have trimmed and rounded his spurs recently but it didn’t help. I have 3 hens and 1 rooster. I see this issue with 2 of the hens but this white one is the worst. Any ideas to help?

I don’t know much about chickens, but I heard you’re supposed to have 10 to 12 hens per rooster. You might want to keep him separate from the girls for a little bit and maybe he’ll learn his lesson. With my ducks I have to keep the drakes separate because I don’t have the right ratio right now. I hope your hen gets better!

It is extremely common. Separating him might help, but I kind of doubt it. Getting more hens might also help, but roosters often choose favorites. You can buy hen saddles, which cover the hens to protect them and allow the feathers to grow back and the spot to heal.
