Rooster injury

My rooster was attacked by a cat yesterday. He's missing neck feathers and had a puncture on his neck that scabbed up. He was crowing and seemed fine this morning. I kept them all locked in today to keep them safe. However tonight his comb is super pale and his waddle is purple. Ideas???

I'm so sorry. I'd try some sugar water / electrolytes for shock, if he'll take it. I dribble it on the side of the beak or dip their beak just a little to prevent aspiration. Will he eat for you?

I'd also look him over for additional injuries and do a saline rinse plus unmedicated triple antibiotic ointment on anything you find.

If he acts hunched, sad, listless, I'd probably plan attempting an antibiotic in case of infection. It doesn't sound like he's that badly off yet. Could you post some pictures to help in evaluating him?

I'll try to get some pictures. He looked rough before due to molting. He was crowing this morning and is eating. I'll fix him up some good water for tomorrow.

This is my Cochin Champ. He looked worse tonight though.

I agree, I'd re-check for more injuries, do clean out the puncture wound(s) with saline or chlorhexidine.

Give the sugar water as suggested.

I looked him over this morning and can't even find the original puncture wound. He has had 2 comb wounds, 1 cat and 1 rooster before I got him. Ideas?
