Rooster is lame

Thank you!
So, I've been giving him the B Complex - he has good days and bad days. Bad days he won't stand or get up off of his hocks. Those days I give him some baby aspirin and lift him up and put him in a standing position (sometimes he'll sit back down, other times he'll stay standing). The next day after aspirin he is better, but he still has a hard time with steps and the ramp to get up and down into the coop.

I'm not sure what else to do. It's breaking my heart. He'll eat and drink, crow, he tries to mount the hens (hasn't been successful in a long time). He stumbles when he walks - and other days he walks fine.

I don't know if he is in horrible pain ... don't know what to do. Is it time to let him go? :(

Poor guy. Is an xray on the leg by your vet possible? Is he limping on the swollen leg? Is it still bigger than the right? Have you seen the thread about different chicken sling chairs for leg issues? Here is the link with a lot of home made designs:

No vets near me to see him - unless I can wait for months. He’s not favoring one leg over the other. He gets “stuck” in the down position. I helped him stand up earlier when I opened the run up. He wouldn’t leave (I think he couldn’t step up and out). I put him outside and he walked around with the girls for a few hours and seemed fine. I picked him up and put him back in the run and now he won’t stand up to go inside the coop.

This is why I’m struggling. He seems fine and then he’s not. I don’t want him to suffer.
