I got this big buff Cochin rooster about a little over a year ago. I put him with my old remaining hen and they hit it off just fine. But I gave him two new white hens and now he picks on the old hen and attacks her won’t let her eat or roost! Wth is going on?! He has always been a good natured rooster!

He kinda does, XD

This seems to just be normal rooster behavior, some like my Cockerel, are just like that... you know what the pecking order is, right? He’s just being dominant.
Oh the one in my avatar picture is my old buff Orpington that had passed. But my buff Cochin looks very similar in the face. She was my dominant hen and she picked on the new comer girls really bad, he didn’t like that so he started to attack her when she would do that, but now she’s friendly with them but he still attacks her

How old is the hen getting beaten up?
She is around 6 years old. She was always dominant so when I brought in younger new hens she was picking on them pretty bad so my rooster started to attack her, well now she’s friendly with the new hens but he still attacks her. He makes her sleep in the nesting box won’t allow her to roost. So I took his ass out and put her on the roost last night then I eventually brought him back and put him on the roost later that night. What can I do? I know he is a great rooster but it’s this is something he needs broke over.

Do you have a separate enclosure or crate you could keep him in for most the day for a few days? A little time out might help.

How long have the new birds been there...and how old are they?

Yes I have a small coop close by. The new hens are a little over a year old like him. He hardly has spurs yet he is so young. They are definitely growing though. My old hen that he is picking on has huge spurs. But she is extremely fearful of him. He makes her eat last too
