Rooster or hen? Opinions please 🙏

These hatched 4 months ago and still unsure if male or female. They are supposed to be pure blue copper marans but not sure about markings whether that’s actually correct).

Any help appreciated please- I’m still learning

I can't tell it the back feathers are male or female but I'm thinking pullets

This is a male's saddle feather. He has a few but expect a lot more in the near future.

I could see how you were thinking that.
He is a blue copper Marans and they are Birchen based.
They have sex specific patterns. The hens only get the red coloring on their necks but the males get a lot of red coloring on their bodies too.
It gets a little complicated because it takes the red the little time to come in. Especially on the body parts of the males.
When they get a little older and you start seeing any red coming in around the shoulders or the saddle you can bet it's a cockerel.

Thanks. These are the bits that were throwing me as otherwise they are rounded but that makes sense that they are still to grow in more. I think they are quite late developers at 4 months as I’ve had other cockerels far more obvious by this stage.
