Ok I was 99.9% sure he was a rooster. I'm kind of new to chickens so I just wanted to be sure. Also, what's a cockerel and the differences between them and roosters?
A cockerel is a male chicken over the age of 1 year which is roughly full maturity in most roosters. A rooster is a male chicken from day 1 up to a year. Cockerels are preferred in most opinions because they usually crow less and they have a much better fertility and are better at mounting, just more experienced.
