Just for your information, this rooster is not fertilizing anymore, which means all the eggs the hen originally sat on were not fertilized, but they live together with my very new muscovy duck which lives with a male muscovy duck (the male one I bought it as a baby, it was male so I bought a female)Wow that is so cool
My cockerel, kip, will be with my hens when they lay eggs and hum to them, that's why we kept him over our other cockerels (we hatched 12 brahma eggs last year and got 8 cockerels!!! and only 4 girls. Kip was the only male who sits and hums with them, it's so sweet)
Keep us updated would love to see if he hatches any babys

So I just went and checked now in the morning, and the rooster is still sitting. It crowed while sitting and didn't leave them. There is an egg which it seems like the hen pushed away and left it for some reason, but I know it's not fertilized anyways so I took it.If you don’t mind could you keep us updated on what he does?

Hello, keep us updated would love to see if he hatches any babys
But the hen is still sitting on all the eggs and it seems to be doing its job well so far. But I think my duck is laying the egg next to it and it is just adding more eggs and so each egg will hatch on a different day.Hello,
So I think what's happening is not what I thought was happening. So as I told you, the rooster is so old. It stopped fertilizing eggs but it still crows.
This rooster for some reason had eggs under it that night, but the next day, it slept next to the chicken without any eggs under it, and today it just didn't move since the morning, and didn't crow either.
I went to check, and the rooster is not even doing anything to clean itself or something, because it had so much disgustingness under it, it seems like it's because it is not moving to the soil so it makes itself dirty. I touched the rooster and it did nothing, and then I carried it and washed it and cleaned it. I noticed it is not moving, but it has nothing wrong with its legs. Later it ran so quickly and sat again, and didn't move until now.
I think it might be going to die soon. I and my family are thinking of slaughtering it and eating it before it dies naturally.
It didn't crow at all today either, but today, the cockerel that was with them crowed properly for the first time. It is currently around 6 months old and crowed for the first time, and it is a Malaysian breed which is known to mature late.
It is still next to that chicken, not moving at all, with no eggs under it.
Sorry about your rooster. He seems like a good boy!Hello,

You might want to mark her original eggs and then remove any eggs that get added. My friends broody had a staggered hatch and the mommy hen left two of the eggs. They had to figure out how to keep her in the nest until they hatched. Best of luck with your hatch and rooster! But the hen is still sitting on all the eggs and it seems to be doing its job well so far. Yes. He was the best rooster I had, it looked so nice before but nowadays all its tail feathers fell and other feathers as well which made him look ugly, and was aggressive, which was good for surviving some animals that attacked before, but annoying because he attacked me before multiple times, but now he doesn't even think about attacking as he is weak.Sorry about your rooster. He seems like a good boy!
So I don't think it itself layed eggs as it rarely lays an egg at this age, but I think you mean the first eggs it sat on.You might want to mark her original eggs and then remove any eggs that get added.
I think the best solution would be to move the eggs to the incubator right when the chicken leaves the remaining eggs, after candling. My friends broody had a staggered hatch and the mommy hen left two of the eggs. It’s great you have an incubator! Since you have one I would just do that!Yes. The problem is, I am not sure which egg was before and which was new because this chicken is already 4-5 years of age and still never became broody before so I so I didn't realize it was sitting on the eggs. Now I have many eggs, and I don't know which was layed when. (all the eggs I added later because I know they are fertilized, has the date on it, but I don't have any idea for the rest)
