My rooster broke his spur off recently and I didn't notice until he had already dirtied it up a bit!! He's not bleeding anymore but it seems like some dirt dried into his blood. What should I do? For now I'm going to give his feet a soak in warm water(I'm unsure if I should add Epsom salt since it could get into his wound?) and apply Veterycin to his spur. I'm worried about it getting infected.

Can you post photos?

If it's already started healing up and scabbing over, you may not need to do anything to it.
