Rooster with broken leg

I saw that my rooster had a broken leg in the morning, I did the splint method but I would also like to know other things to do

Can you post any pictures? Is the skin broken, and what part of the leg is broken? Did you use padding, something stiff like tongue blades or popsicle sticks, and vet wrap? Be sure to check circulation since vet wrap can become too tight if it moves or the leg swells. Confine him to a pen or dog crate near food and water. How did it happen? The foot or lower leg could be broken, but hard to know without an xray. Here on page 22 of this link, it has a picture of a splint for a bird:
