Does anyone have or know why a rooster likes to get into corners and talk to himself??? LOL I'm not sure why or what my rooster is doing but "every time" he comes into our shop or goes into the garage he will find a corner, face inward, squat down and start making noises like he's talking to himself. It never fails!!! Anyone have a clue at to what or why this odd behavior????? I can't help but crack up laughing!

Nah! He's just being a guy. He's being picked on by the women-folk and he's looking for a place to hide. If he had hands he'd be in there building something.

are his noises soft cluckings? My rooster does that sometimes.

It must be some kind of manly meditation or rooster therapy. The poor guys have to unwind some way!

Are there tiny ants or caterpiller in that corner? sometimes they would investigate.

Other than that, if he is in good health, maybe he is doing his manly things!

If so mine gets the same station! He picks the NW corner and has his butt up in the air. Facing into the corner. He does talk, but doesn't really sound like happy sounds. I guess it's his man cave!!! We had to rehome our other roo but he did it all the time. It was very noticeable.

Well, i don't know for sure what yours is doing. But i do know that if you put a young rooster in an enclosed space with a senior rooster, the younger rooster will show his submission (sometimes after a good beating) by assuming that position in a corner of the space. Once he hides his face and shows submission, the dominant rooster will leave him alone. Although, they're normally silent when they do that, so i'm not sure who yours are talking to.

Maybe y'all are right, he's just doing what most men do when they have to be around a lot of women on a daily basis.....he's caving. I was just curious if this was some kind of behavior that's been studied before and figured out. Maybe he's part CooCoo bird??

Buff, I sure hope he's not planning my demise as he'd have to take a number
