My rooster's wattles are really swollen and there is a lump at the top between the two wattles. The lump looks like there are hair or feathers starting to grow out of it. The right wattle on the bottom outside has a big black spot. I noticed this 2 days ago. When I let the out in the morning on Tuesday he didn't run out like he always does he stayed in the coop for awhile. When I noticed he had came out he was just standing in the sun. Today he came out and I noticed his tail feathers are down and he's not doing much. I know he ate yesterday but I didn't see him eat today. I did see him drink water. I put him back in his coop since he wasn't moving around like normal. He is just sitting under the heat lamp. Please help!

Also now just in the last couple hours he's moved from his usual spot to the back corner of the coop.
Do you have another rooster?

The mark on the wattle looks almost like a bruise, perhaps it was pinched somehow.
I do see some swelling between the wattles, what does the inside of the beak look like, any lesions or canker, anything under the tongue? Any bad odors coming from the beak?

Work on hydration, see if he will eat a little food. Offer some bits of egg or fish to entice him. Check to make sure his crop is emptying.

Is his poop all watery or what is it like?

And do check him over really well for mites, lice or any unseen injury/bruising that may be hidden under all his feathers.

I hope this guy feels better soon.

If possible, take a sample of his poop to your vet for a fecal float to see if he needs deworming.

I did have two other roosters but I rehomed them about at least a month or so ago. I'll check and see about his poop. His eyes are clear and there isn't any smell that I can tell. His beak looks good but I will have to try to look in his mouth. Did you happen to notice in the one picture the lump up high between his wattles? It looks like there are feathers growing out of it? But it's a knot or lump?

Roosters have feathers or down that grows between the wattles, that's not uncommon.

What does the knot or lump feel like? I'd check inside the beak for any signs of lesions or canker.
