Would anyone happen to know where I could get ahold of a young male rottweiler puppy in PA (preferably under 3 months old)? Every single time I post an ad to Craigslist or Freecycle, I get flagged (within 2 minutes of posting). We had a horrible time with the shelter 2 weeks ago. The 'owner' refused to adopt an adult dog to us and suggested we wait for the puppies he has. Though he wouldn't let us see them and we can't reserve them either...
Obviously, with the outrageous economy, I cannot afford to purchase my husband a pup from Amajen in Bushkill, they want $500 as a non refundable deposit just to HOLD a puppy for you.
We've got 3 acres, a 1 yr old lab/rott mix, 2 little boys and plenty of time for a puppy. We can provide a good home and I'm even willing to send updates and photos to the original owners. My husband's wanted one of these since he was a kid, so it really means a lot to me, now that we have extra room for another loyal family dog.

So, if anyone knows where I'd be able to locate one in PA or close to the NY or NJ state lines for a REASONABLE price, PLEASE PLEASE help me.

Thanks for reading

Yes, I have. I cannot find ANY in the area (except one at the shelter we went to previously and Bruce will not adopt an adult dog to us because we have kids), not even PHILLY.

Thanks. I browsed to see what was available. I found a few, but I'm not spending $800 on a dog. That's insane. I don't need AKC registered. I need someone's pet that got a little too close to the neighbors dog.

I'm looking for bunnies and I posted a "WANTED" ad... to see if anyone responded... You could try that?

Petfinder is an excellent site.. that's where I found my dog... But you're right, most of them are older (Mine was 2). I'd try contacting a local rottie rescue, sometimes they get a hold of some puppies

Another thing is... you get what you pay for. Sometimes it is worth buying from a reputable breeder just for health and temperament reasons. Rotties can have some "interesting" personalities and a responsible breeder makes sure to only breed calm well mannered dogs. There are also hip issues to worry about... hip dysplasia can be an EXPENSIVE thing to fix, and heartbreaking if you can't fix it...

All true.

I figure I've been trying pretty hard to find one. If it doesn't fall into my lap, it wasn't meant to be. DH wanted a rottie and I found Zoey at the shelter, she was 4 months old. Even though she's mixed, we still love her. DH just really likes the coloring on rotties. I suggested a mini pin, but he wasn't having that

A min pinn is a far cry from a rottie!

Try another rottie rescue! And keep an eye on your local shelters. Large breed black dogs are very hard to find homes for, generally speaking. Although depending on your location sometimes the "vicious" looking dogs are easily adopted. If you're up for a mix try a lab mix. There are so many labs out there that need good homes.

I do some rescue work and know a few rottie breeders in Ohio who all do rescue work. PM me if you'd like some help finding a dog. I also do rescue transport work, so if we can find you a dog in a different part of the country I'm pretty sure we can get him/her on a transport to you without too much trouble!

There are so many dogs that need good homes. Keep looking, you'll find the right dog!

(and I'd stick with the large dogs. Min pinns don't quite cut it
