Run - apron? Buried wire? Both?

I installed a brick and paver threshold.

We have a wooden frame for the door and a deck on the outside. I ran the apron under the decking.

Here is the frame before we added the deck. The apron was added here before the decking went on - if you look closely I think you can see some of it.

I did the apron thing, 3 foot wide 1/2" hardware cloth, 2 feet up the sides of the fencing, the remaining foot spread out from the bottom edge. No problems with diggers yet (knock!knock!).

Best choice really depends on what kind of predators you have in your area.
