Oh goodness! That sounds like a stressful situation for you! I'm glad you got things sorted for everyone though. I will continue with my spray and if nothing changes, I will take the little madam to the vets.Ringworm is a PITA! A couple of years ago, I brought home a kitten that had it (unknowingly). It first showed up on my white Staffy, made him a vet appointment and got told it looked "funny" but they didn't think it was ringworm (took samples). A few days later, I was back at the vet with our other kitten...his ear tips were suddenly crusty and curling! Still didn't "look" like ringworm to the vet, but more samples were taken. In the meantime, I developed a few itchy, dry patches and went to my doctor. I was immediately diagnosed with ringworm (they took samples) and sent home with a prescription to take to get rid of it. Then, I called the vet to let them know I was diagnosed (ringworm is highly infectious and can jump from people to animals and back, but rough;y 50% of everything alive is "immune" to it). Both dog and cat samples "glowed" when they checked them, so they were put on the same prescription I was given. A week or so later, our other dog started showing up with what looked like hives, sure enough, ringworm.
In the end, both cats, both dogs, and myself all had ringworm while my husband and 2 children never showed symptoms at all! Lucky them for being in the "immune" group!
TL;DR I'd see if your vet is willing to take samples of the dry scaley bald patches to test for ringworm.
