safety of citronella oil around flock

mosquito and black fly are relentless. I bought citronella oil tiki torches for my yard. Is this safe to use in close proximity to chickens from a respiratory health perspective?
I am well aware of the obvious fire hazard.

The proximity of the torch would be just outside the run human door, 5 ft about the ground in open air. its not windy there due to tree breaks but should be enough air disbursement as to not be a problem. I would love to put one in the run but that makes me nervous of fire potential. Plus the birds impressively chase and pick off the pesky bugs. I’m simply glad the oil is not toxic as something like teflon.
