Satin silkie with wry neck???????????

I have a 5 month old silkie in my hands with what I suspect is wry neck. pls help!!! he is upside down he is currently in my left hand I am holding his head up with my hand when I found him his head was upside-down what can I do!!!!!!

I gave him some vitamin E and selenium and some raw scrambled egg. How often should I do that? He perked up after I gave it to him

Don't give him selenium. That's what the scrambled egg is for.

Otherwise, at 5 months old, it's nearly full grown so I'd give a full Vit E, then some scrambled eggs.

I would also put them all on Poultry Cell water every other day for a week or two.

I'd do the Vit E every 12 hours. @Wyorp Rock may say otherwise. It's what I do for the couple I've had with neurological problems, ie. shaking head.

Should we give him vitamin B1? I just got a 3pack of chick electrolytes because they didn't have any poultry cell at my TSC

I have been giving him these they are spring valley brand(cut open so he doesn't get the gel cap)

2 every 14 hours and also 1/2 of a B1 pill in raw scrambled egg

It should be a B-Complex, not just the B1. And 5 months old silkie probably only needs 1/4 of one of those.

I've given those Vit E just directly in the mouth of an adult silkie by using my left hand to pry her beak open a little then chuck it in with my right hand, and don't let her spit it out. Others suggest pulling down on their wattles, but my chocolate hen has barely any wattles.

For the little ones, I cut those E's and dribble it on their scrambled eggs, but it's nasty tasting, yet, they still gobble those eggs down.


The B-complex and Vit E/scrambled eggs is the only treatment I've ever known for wry neck or neurological issues.

Just keep it up, twice a day.

I put the Vit E gel into his eggs and they are gone by evening.
I don't have any B complex tablets. If he isn't better by tomorrow I might put him down he looks like he is suffering and my grandmother agreed
