I have a Golden Seabright and I have some questions, so I was hoping that someone who has experience with these gorgeous birds could help.

1. I read somewhere that they only get to be about 1.5 lbs, is this true?

2. About how tall are they when fully grown?

3. Finnigan was purchased on April 28, 2018 and she is showing no signs of a comb or wattle. Is this normal?

Thanks for the help!

Sebrights are bantams and stay small so yeah, 1.5 pounds is around max size. I am not sure how tall they are because I have never measured one, they look like they are 4 or 5 inches tall though. Pullets should not show much development in their combs or wattles until they are a few weeks from laying, this just means your Sebright is a Pullet.

Thank you! Hopefully she'll not get offended because all the others are bigger than her. Lol. She lives with 2 silkies, a Welsumer, and a buff Orpington.

I'm certainly not an expert but I have raised a little Golden Sebright cockerel this year who is about a month older than your sweet little pullet (born on March 27). This was him about a little over a month ago at around your baby's age:

They have rose combs, so they grow in quite differently and stay tight to the head. Yours is definitely a pullet, based on my experience with a cockerel!

Here he is now, at 14 weeks:

Mine is short but sturdy and though I haven't weighed him I'd guess he's a little less than two pounds already. He's still tiny compared to my enormous top roos, a Brown Leghorn and a Welsummer. Even next to the bantam cochins, he's a little runt, but certainly not in personality! This little crooner crows all day from the highest perches he can find. He's a total sweetheart though, and was my favourite cuddly baby as a chick.

If you happen to live in Silicon Valley and would like to see what beautiful babies they can make down the road, let me know...I'd love to have some Sebright pullets and my guy is especially handsome (I may be a little biased but I think it's true!)
