Do you sell your eggs? How much do you sell them for? And do you wash them before hand? Right now my store has a dozen of egg for about $3.85 ... I was thinking of selling my eggs for $2.00 - 2.50.. I think that's reasonable.. I don't want to charge to much $$ and not sell any...

I will be selling mine for $5 a dozen. In the past, I've purchased fresh eggs from coworkers at $4.50 or $5. My eggs will be a variety of colors and I've spent a lot of money on these chicks so feel like 5 is fair. But I'm also close to a big city and no one else I know raises chickens so there's no competition.

All geographical locations are different. My local area is flooded here in N.C.Florida with back yard chicken owners selling eggs. Average price is $3 a dz. If you ask more than 3... your refrigerator will fill up fast.

Yes! That was my thinking too.. I don't want to be stuck with a ton of eggs ... I want to stay a little cheaper then the store.. I know my eggs will always be better then something at a store.. but I'll be very happy if I get enough money a month to buy 1 bag of feed. 🙂

I sell 4-7 dozen a week. I wash and chill. I charge $4 a dozen currently. I have a stand at the end of my driveway and people pay with cash or venmo.
Thanks for the info! I told my hubby I wanted a egg stand too 🤣 one of our family members sells eggs for $4 and she does pretty well.. but she also lives on a heavily traveled road.. I live in the middle of no where surrounded by amish so I'll have to do a lot of advertising online or by signs.

Check your local regulations. In CA, for example, even if you give or trade a single egg, you need to have an egg handler's license. In OR, you may not need an egg handler's license, but you do need to follow regulations on labeling your eggs. Each state is different.

I do believe that in all states you are required to wash your eggs if you sell them, but I haven't read the rules for all states.
