Sorry I’ve not replied. I was gone for a week and recently returned home. Misty is doing well, foot is still swollen but definitely looks better than at the start. Shes eating normally and out with all the other chickens now so I know she’s happier. I’m hoping in time the swelling will disappear but she seems totally content at least. Fingers crossed!

And the wounds are gone!

FYI regarding Kurochka Ryaba (Ryaba the chicken/hen), Ryaba is a common Russian chicken name after the folk tale of Kurochka Ryaba. I named one of my hens Ryaba after a chicken in one of my favorite books.

Yesterday I thought it was just infected. There was no signs on his pad but thought maybe it was a bloody feather uhh hole. So I soaked him and cleaned and ointment and wrap… today he was hopping around so I brought him in for another soak and when I pulled him out I realized his whole foot is floppy. I just needed to vent.

They get into such predicaments sometimes. It’s just lucky that he has an owner like you to take him to the vet I hope it isn’t too serious and he gets better quickly
