I have a silver lace male Wyandotte, I have 4 golden laced hens. If I'm correct, their offspring should be sex-linked.

Can someone tell me which color would be male and which would be female? This is the first time I've tried mixing colors and I'm a little confused

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

While I often get the direction mixed up, I'm pretty sure that's incorrect and would need to be the opposite direction for sexlinking... red or gold male over silver hens would give red/gold pullets and silver male offspring (with gold leakage at maturity).

Also according to my current understanding might be a bit more difficult to discern at hatch than some of the other sexlinked crosses

This is correct ^
I had it backwards.

Thank you both for your reply. I typically vent sex at 24-48 hours, but was hoping I could create a sex-link cross so it would be much easier
