I have 3 blue laced red wyandottes that are about 6 weeks old. I am unfamiliar with rose-combed breeds and I am having a hard time making heads or tails out of what these guys are shaping out to be. Any thoughts? They are the three light-colored birds on the right side of the photos.

Edit: age is 6 weeks, not 5 weeks

can you get a closer picture, of each one

Sorry for the slow reply and bad pics... my baby has been a bit sick and has been accompanying me to the coop for the pics and it has been difficult Let's try these pics...

BLRW 1:

BLRW 2 (most difficult to photograph):

BLRW 2 & 3 (2 dark head, 3 light head)

BLRW 3:

And a final pic of all 3 (front to back: 3, 1, 2):

First and second one show roo qualities, i would watch out for the comb size and color, the comb is what makes me think roo

Teach me! What roo qualities do you refer to? In person, the comb size doesn't seem different at all across the three birds but the darker heads do provide more contrast to the comb than the light-headed one. With a single- or double-combed chicken I can see greater height and often a thicker base, but what am I looking for with a rose-comb to denote size?

I'm no expert, i just recently found some ways to look for them, what makes me think i the redness of the combs, at 5 weeks a hen comb would be small and yellowish not red and growing, second the hackle feathers around the neck they look pointed to me, third, you can look at the tail feathers do you see how there curling around and are sharp looking to, this are the qualities i referred to, hope i could help
