i just got 4 very pretty indian fantails and i was told it was 2 pairs but im not so sure can some one help me

You might watch this video and if you have some birds walking in circles and a bit larger and puffing up their neck and crop area that seem a bit more iridescent than the rest of the flock. This behaviour usually depicts that the bird is a male. It is quite hard to give an opinion on four very pretty fantails with your limited description and visual clues. If you hold a fantail on it's back and it stays put it usually depicts a female. If it flops over from its back and flies back to the loft usually depicts it is a male 75% accurate. Sorry I could not be more helpful.

This video also shows the sexing of birds 75% accurate once you gain the learning curve.

I know this is an old thread but I recently got 3 pigeons, 2 of which are Indian american cross fantails. One is considerably smaller but has more iridescence, talks more, poofs, and walks in circles. The other is a lot bigger but is quieter, sassy, poofs, and fights with the other from time to time, we know the smaller had a mate but we do not have its mate

could one be female and the other just be a very young male, it has some rough lookin feathers around the neck and head
