For newcomers it will always be hard to understand the unofficial / poultry related, abbreviations that so many on BYC use bc its faster to type.

But no, as others have said, that's Black Oil Sunflower Seeds. They're awfully expensive around here. Is the high cost universal?

Those we are talking about are the black ones, without a stripe. They contain more oik and the shell is actually thinner and close to the seed.Sunflower seeds are in the grain mix I buy for my chickens. I don’t buy extra sunflower seeds. The price is € 2,10 /kg
