living with that boot on their face

"What does the boot stamping on a human face symbolize?"

Orwell strongly conveys this restriction of individual freedom through, “If you want to picture the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever.” The metaphoric 'stamping' creates a strong violent image amongst the audience mimicking the brutality of the Stalinist regime.

Rain on and off all day again. We did manage to get out for a couple of hours though.

Both a velvet glove and an iron fist can squeeze the life out of you.

velvet glove and an iron fist
This saying is new to me too. Oxford’s explanation: used to describe someone who seems to be gentle but is in fact forceful and determined

Can’t listen to youtube right now. MDH is sleeping next to me. 💤 Im still waking up with pain every morning after the painkillers stopped working. And it takes some time for the new dose to do the job to let me sleep again.
How is your rash / health now Shad?Any better?

I'm much the same but with scars instead of scabs.
I do hope those painkillers you're taking are natural and organic. Wouldn't want the chickens finding out it's one rule for them and another for you.:p

I did take paracetamol for the first few days but they are really bad for long term pain due to being very hard on the gut and kidneys. I don't take anything now and am learning how to live with the pain.

And the pain is hell on wheels.

When the pain decides to become a prominent feature you are wondering when it will leave.

While I'm at it...
Good ol music! MDH is fan for many years so maybe Ive could have waked him to listen last night. 😂

Up to 6 a day does no harm if you don’t drink alcohol. The combination is bad for your liver. Ask the pharmacist if you like to ease your pain without further damage to your health.

Ibuprofen and diclofenac (acetylsalicilacid) is bad for the stomach/gut and some people develop an allergy. Its never good to take these for long period.

I only use paracetamol. I started with 4x2 , Now I take 4-6 a day. I still have pain because the fracture has a little dislocation.
