I have posted something related to this previously, about 5/6 months ago. 5 out of 6 of my hens are missing chunks of feathers on their necks only. The one buff looks completely normal. 2 of the 5 periodically shake their heads like something is irritating them. I can't find any mites under their wings or around their vent. They are getting a food with 18% protein. They free range an hour a day Is this feather picking from the buff or potential mites/lice or even a worm of some kind? I did treat with elector PSP 4 months ago.

Thanks!

Are they molting? How old are they? It could be feather picking, usually the one doing it is the one that looks the best. Molt can be going on this time of year as well and sometimes they can look patchy with bare spots. Pictures would be helpful.

They are all around the same age. Two are 6 weeks younger than the others. 1 1/2 years old and still getting 3-5 eggs per day

Hello, I was wondering if this issue with your hens has resolved? I noticed this week that several of my hens are starting to appear something like yours. My roo is especially raggedy looking! We are in Middle TN and approaching spring. So, reading over several comments on your two different threads, I was wondering what their condition is now.
Facts about flock: 11 pullets, 1 cockerel all are 11 mns old. They will be 1 yr old the first week of April. A mixture of different breeds. Coop 6'x8' raised. Attached enclosed run 16' x 8'. There are roosting poles in run. Sand over dirt floor. 2 feeders. 1 waterer. Feed Scratch and Peck Organic Layer 16% protein. Treats: Black solider flies (gets them into the run for bed or treat when in run only, some blue berries, head lettuce or frozen corn, but that's not often, and usually when they are only not able to free range . Free range when weather permits and when we're at home. Do have several culprits of feather pickers, but pattern and condition of feather issue has changed in the past week. Try to minimize boredom when in enclosed.
Roo is my worst out of the bunch. Besides the feathers looking very ragged, his flesh around the eyes yesterday started to appear slightly puffy. I did apply Terramycin to eyes once yesterday, and will continue to treat for several days. Though I am not sure what his issues are, but I'm choosing to medicate.
I will include some photos from yesterday. They are mainly for feather conditions and not of rooster's eye. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it did resolve seemingly on its own. I have one single hen who is clearly picking the feathers out of her own neck but the rest have all grown in nicely.
