She’s not getting better with antibiotics

Since those have electrolytes which can cause diarrhea after a few days, I would use them for 5 days or less. Let us know what the vet has to say. Could her ear have been pecked on the outside which may have caused blood and swelling?
Well I took her to vet and her swelling has spread over to her mouth and that’s why she isn’t eating, I didn’t see her usual vet but she was seen by another vet who also specializes in chickens upon inspection she found nothing in her ear she didn’t use her scope but just looked in there the vet said she thinks it’s cancer because of the color and because the antibiotics had no effect oh her, she gave her a Doxycycline shot and sent me home with metacam to give orally she said if by Friday there is no change then we must consider putting her down, I’m so heartbroken she’s been with us 9 years and so very loved.

9 years and loved. What a beautiful life she has had with you! If she does have cancer and you have to let her pass what a blessing she has had as you to love her.

I’m sorry that the vet thinks it is cancer. I still am hoping the swollen ear is from pecking or injury, since it looks like bruising which is greenish. I would keep giving her supportive care and feeding her. Please let us know how she gets along.

Good morning she slept well just took her out of her crate she was very thirsty continues to sneeze after drinking water and still shakes her head not quite as much she seems weak and I have her laying down on a heating pad. I gave her the first dose last night of metacam and said my goodbyes thinking she wouldn’t make it but she’s there she tries to eat but it’s as if she can’t we love her so very much and she’s been with us through some bad situations and many times gave me the peace I needed when everything was falling apart around me I don’t want to let her go I know its selfish of me of course I knew she wouldn’t last forever but if it is in fact cancer it’s just hard to come to grips with it. Thank you all so very much as so called friends don’t understand and just see her as just a ‘chicken”
