Shell less eggs

Hi all. Egg production in my flock of 4 has been low and mostly non- existent for the last year. They are getting older so maybe it’s no surprise but I added a new hen and I have no idea how old she is. She was found on the side of the road. She lays eggs sporadically. I feed an all-flock feed and put out crushed eggshell and oyster shell since most of them aren’t laying but I don’t know if the new hen is eating it and she has been dropping shell less eggs under the roost lately. I’m going to pop some calcium citrate down her throat until her eggs have shells but once she is caught up how do I keep her topped up? I wish I could feed her a layer feed but then the others would be getting too much calcium, right? Thanks

Good question!
I would probably just stick to the all flock food. It generally has a better protein percentage and the other's don't need the calcium.

It could be a reproductive issue (which could explain why she was on the side of the road. Maybe someone dumped her)
Meaning it can't be "fixed". Although you aren't really supposed to do this, you could make some scrambled eggs and add those into the calcium to make sure she knows she can eat it.

Ok I was thinking this might be the case and had also wondered if she was dumped because of this issue. Well as long as I’m not failing to do something for her I’ll just let her be. I appreciate your help on the matter.
